How to download the IBPS Clerk admit card 2026
It takes about two minutes if you have your login details ready.
- Go to the official website, ibps.in.
- Open the CRP CSA-XVI (Clerk) section.
- Click the link for the Online Preliminary Exam Call Letter.
- Enter your registration number or roll number.
- Enter your password or date of birth and fill in the captcha.
- Your call letter opens as a PDF. Download it and take a clear printout.
Forgot your registration number? It’s in the confirmation email and SMS you got when you applied. Search your inbox for “IBPS” or “CRP CSA”.
Tip: save the PDF on your phone and in your email too. If the printout gets lost or damaged on exam day, you can print it again near the centre.
What to check on your call letter
Open the PDF and check every line. Mistakes are rare, but you want to find them now, not at the exam gate.
- Your name, spelled exactly as on your photo ID
- Roll number and registration number
- Your photograph and signature (clear, not blurred)
- Exam date and shift
- Reporting time (this is earlier than the exam start time)
- Exam centre name and full address
- The instructions printed on the call letter
If anything is wrong, contact IBPS through the candidate support details on ibps.in straight away. Don’t wait until the day before the exam.
Documents to carry on exam day
You won’t be allowed in without these:
- The printed call letter
- An original, valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN card, passport, driving licence, voter ID or similar). The name must match the call letter.
- A passport-size photograph, if your call letter asks for one
- Any other document mentioned in the instructions on your call letter
Read the instructions page of your call letter carefully. If it asks for a photocopy of your ID or a photo pasted somewhere, do it the day before.
Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators or any electronic device into the exam hall.
Exam-day plan
- Visit your centre a day early if it’s in an unfamiliar area. Exam centres are often outside the city, and Google Maps doesn’t always get the gate right.
- Reach before the reporting time on your call letter. Late candidates are not allowed in.
- Eat something light. The exam is only 60 minutes, but the security check and waiting can take an hour or more.
- Keep your ID and call letter in a clear folder so they don’t get crushed.
IBPS Clerk prelims exam pattern 2026
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Numerical Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
Each section has its own 20-minute timer. When the time ends, the section locks and you move to the next one. You can’t go back.
There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. Blank answers carry no penalty.
So your score = correct answers − (0.25 × wrong answers). For example, 70 correct and 12 wrong gives you 70 − 3 = 67 marks.
What to do in the last 7 days
You can’t learn new topics this week. You can make sure you score what you already know.
- Take one full mock every day in the same time slot as your real shift. Your brain gets used to that time.
- Analyse every mock for 30 minutes. Where did you lose time? Which questions should you have skipped?
- Fix your section order inside each 20 minutes. For example, in Reasoning, do the inequality, syllogism and direction questions first, then the puzzles.
- Practise skipping. In a 20-minute section, one hard puzzle can eat 6 minutes. Leave it and come back if time is left.
- Revise, don’t start fresh. Go over your error notebook, simplification tricks and English vocabulary from past mocks.
- Sleep properly for the last two nights. A tired brain makes silly calculation mistakes.
Should you worry if your mocks are low?
Honestly, no. Mock tests are often harder than the real exam, and many people who score average in mocks clear the prelims.
What matters most is accuracy. With 0.25 negative marking, 65 attempts at 90% accuracy beat 85 attempts with lots of guesses. Attempt what you’re sure about, and skip blind guesses.
What comes after the prelims?
- Prelims result: IBPS will publish the result on ibps.in. The date hasn’t been announced yet.
- Mains exam: scheduled for 27 December 2026 for candidates who qualify.
- Provisional allotment: final selection for Clerk is based on mains marks. There’s no interview.
We’ll update this page when the prelims result date is announced.
Always confirm dates and instructions on the official website, ibps.in, and on your own call letter. If anything on your call letter differs from this page, follow the call letter.
