This Privacy Policy explains how Dishalu ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit https://dishalu.in (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Dishalu is an independent information website for students and job seekers in India, publishing posts about government exams, results, tech news and careers. You can reach us at malikantuparthi@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
You can read the Site without creating an account or telling us who you are. We collect:
- Information you give us: if you email us, we receive your email address, name (if included) and the contents of your message.
- Technical data collected automatically: when you visit, our hosting, security and analytics providers may record your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookie and similar data: small files and identifiers set by us or by partners such as Google. See sections 4 and 5.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as financial information, government ID numbers or health information, and we never ask for them.
3. How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the Site (for example, to stop spam and attacks, and to see which posts are useful).
- To reply to your messages and fix errors you report.
- To show advertising that helps keep the Site free (see section 5).
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. The Site and our partners may use these types of cookies:

We use (or may use) Google AdSense to display ads. In line with Google's requirements:

- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.

6. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics and/or Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which posts are read most and which devices people use. These reports are aggregated and we don't use them to identify individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Sharing of information
We share information only:
- With service providers who run the Site for us (hosting, security, analytics, email, advertising), under their own privacy terms.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of the Site and its users.
8. How long we keep data
Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to respond and keep a record of corrections, and are deleted on request. Technical logs and analytics data are kept for the periods set by our providers.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, to withdraw consent, and to raise a grievance. 10. Children's privacy
The Site is written for college students and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Links to other websites
Our posts link to official websites and third-party platforms. We aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing information with them.
12. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS and hosted on infrastructure with built-in security protections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
